Forgotten out first love (forgetting again)

Running the race
Doing the time
Face to face
Giving a dime
Here and there
There and here
Down in fear
 Coming up the rear
What have we done,
In the confusion,
Pushed and shoved
Forgotten our first love

"Night" A song of innocence and experience

Night
By Nathanial J. Hesse

As milky roads blanket the sky spaces,
The sun and moon switch places.
Street lights turn on, like a wave through the city
Who knew metal concrete and wood could look so pretty

Golden sprinkles spread, across the deep black sky.
Taking a trip in a rocket ship, though I never quite knew why.
Battling a foe with a big black nose, an epic battle ensues.
Hiding behind a wall in my fort, like I’ve got nothing to lose.

A stair way to heaven, glowing stepping stones,
Flashlight tag, and glittery thrones.
Lyra and Draco dancing a jig, cue the moon,
Fire and Ice collide in the afternoon.

Night
By Nathanial Hesse

As a black blanket full of holes drapes the sky in disgust I
Turn off the light, so I don’t see what they do when dusk draws nigh
As lights dim, I cringe at what goes on
When thieves lurk about with knives withdrawn

Pull the blinds! Bar the doors!
Get the guns! Keep out the eyesores!
Are the children in bed? Have you kept the evil out
Of their minds, to which they should know nothing about.

The moon is brighter the evil is over!
Just to make sure, look over your shoulder!
The dawn is nigh, the children are awake,
Twelve more hours, till the next outbreak.

Forgotten My First Love

You have, in fact
Been left behind
Kicked back
Throughout time
Closer to the rear
Then you’ve ever been
Stumbling over
What lies within
Dragged by the rope
More precious than thee
What have you
done to deserve me?

You hung on a tree
You were laid in rock
Only to be left behind
Like a tattered sock!
You took my shame
You broke my chains
You set me free
Now left in the rain.

Been here before
Push and shove
I’ve done it again;
Forgotten my first love.
